CALGARY —Travelodge Canada has added two new hotels to its Canadian portfolio.

Formerly the Peachtree Inn, the Thriftlodge Kingston opened in early February with hotel owner Tidan Inc. and GM Jennifer Hewitt at the helm. The pet-friendly 74-room property offers free continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi and free parking. Suites feature in-room coffee, a refrigerator, microwave and 32” flat-screen TVs. The hotel also offers space for up to 200 people for meetings, receptions and weddings, with in-house catering and audio visual services.

The 117-room Travelodge Sydney, N.S., owned by Holloway Lodging, will open on April 1. GM Gloria LeForte will manage the former Days Inn property. Offering a harbour view, free breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, as well as pet-friendly rooms, the hotel also boasts a heated indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and state-of-the-art fitness and games room. Meeting space for up to 80 people is available with catering and audio visual services.

“We’re very optimistic about the franchise growth we’ve seen this year. We’re thrilled to welcome these two new quality properties and look forward to working with them to build their business,” says Trevor Hagel, VP of Operations for Travelodge Canada.
