TORONTO — Toronto is the top travel spot for Canadians exploring the Great White North, according to a recent Hotel Price Index (HPI) survey, which tracks the real prices paid per room by Hotels.com customers.

It was a repeat of last year, with Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver taking the top spots. Toronto realized an increase of five per cent, with an ADR of $142.

Cities such as Edmonton, Victoria, B.C., Saskatoon, Kelowna, B.C., Canmore, Alta., and Regina showed a boost in popularity, with Saskatoon jumping from the 17th spot in 2010 to 13th in 2011. On the other hand, cities such as Ottawa, Banff, Alta., and Whistler, B.C., dropped significantly from last year’s rankings.
