TORONTO — Zubair Siddiqi, the Delta Prince Edward GM, is getting ready to set up shop in the nation’s capital as the new GM of the Delta Ottawa City Centre this month, reports The Guardian.

Siddiqi landed at the Delta Prince Edward in 2010. Prior to that, he helmed the Delta Kitchener-Waterloo in Ontario for 10 years.

The GM also served as the secretary of the Tourism Industry Association of the P.E.I. Executive Committee and was previously chair of the Hotel and Motel Association of Prince Edward Island. “Zubair Siddiqi has made a tremendous contribution to the tourism industry on Prince Edward Island in a relatively short time,” said Robert Henderson, P.E.I. Tourism and culture minister. “He held volunteer positions on several Boards and industry groups and worked very hard to promote and expand the industry on the Island. He was a guiding hand during the construction of the Prince Edward Island Convention Centre. His contributions were many, and he leaves big shoes to fill. We wish him the best of luck in his new position.” [theguardian.pe.ca]
