VICTORIA — Terry Farmer has been named Hotelier of the Century at the BC Hotel Association (BCHA) and the Alliance of Beverage Licensees’ inaugural hospitality industry awards. The co-founder and chairman of Accent Inns Inc. received the unique award — offered this year in celebration of the BCHA’s 100th anniversary — at an awards ceremony held on April 3.

“I thought I had become a has-been, especially after my daughter recently and rightly received the distinction of being awarded Hotelier of the Year by Hotelier magazine,” says Farmer. “Therefore I am doubly honoured and humbled to receive this very special acknowledgement from my peers and thankful for all of our industry partners.”

The BCHA Hotelier of the Century award celebrates a legacy of excellence in the BC hotel industry. Winning Hotelier of the Century is a mark of a long career dedicated to the service of the hospitality industry, recognition of excellent work in their community, and a commitment to outstanding operating practices.
