TORONTO ― On Wednesday, April 1 foodservice experts will be contributing their expertise to end youth homelessness at Cover Me Urban, a celebration of Toronto in support of Youth Without Shelters (YWS).

The annual fundraising event will see the expansive Glass Factory at 99 Sudbury transformed to reflect the diversity of Toronto’s neighbourhoods, including Little Italy, Kensington Market, King West, High Park and the Junction. Tony Fernandes, chef, Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport, will be on hand for cooking demos, Joel Manning, brewmaster from the local Mill St. Brewery will offer beer tastings and Jamie Gallant of Coastline Catering will offer shucking demos.

YWS is West Toronto’s singular emergency residence and referral agency serving more than 1,000 homeless youth aged 16 to 24 annually. YWS supports those in need through counselling, employment guidance, support for continued education, placement in affordable housing and more.
