STAMFORD, Conn. — Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. will be opening three additional Element hotels in the Greater China Region in the next four years.

The announcement follows the recent opening of Element’s Asia Pacific flagship Element Suzhou Science and Technology Town in Suzhou, China.

Element, Starwood’s eco-friendly brand, is positioned to address the trend towards eco-conscious options and the growing importance of sustainable development in markets such as China.

“Element is experiencing tremendous growth momentum, fuelled by strong demand from consumers who are increasingly interested in environmentally friendly practices and sustainable living,” said Brian McGuinness, SVP, Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. “As we continue to expand our portfolio, we’re constantly looking for innovative ways to redefine the traditional hotel experience.”

This news followed the announcement that Starwood will be partnering with real-estate developer Dubai Properties to open four new hotels in Dubai under the Aloft and Element brands.
