CHARLOTTETOWN — Tourism P.E.I. has launched a campaign promoting the province as a culinary destination offering far more than its famed mussels and oysters through a collection of new culinary-inspired experiences for travellers to enjoy this summer.

Featured experiences include the island’s growing brewery, wine and food-truck scenes, as well as local artisans, farmers and fishers.

Experience P.E.I. and Culinary Adventure Co. have partnered to create a collection of four new culinary adventures on P.E.I., including The Farmers’ Market Picnic which focuses on fresh local foods and the people who cultivate, forage and create them.

This summer, the newly renovated Culinary Institute of Canada will offer a new lineup of new half- and full-day Culinary Boot Camp classes.

The new Stompin’ Tom Centre Homestead and Schoolhouse in Skinners Pond, P.E.I., will host weekly “kitchen parties” throughout the summer, featuring music, food and dancing. The new venue also features concerts, song writing/performing workshops, open mic nights and dinner theatre on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Other experiences include “bar clamming”, experiential dining at The Table Culinary Studio in New London and a unique experience on a local sheep farm — featuring knitting lessons, cheese tasting and a lobster dinner.
