TORONTO — Shurland George is the new manger of education and skills development at the Ontario Tourism Education Corporation (OTEC).

“Working closely with Ontario’s educational institutions, Shurland will ensure academic stakeholders have the standards, curriculum and resources they need to deliver the most cutting-edge and industry-relevant programming available,” reads an OTEC press release. “He will also work directly with industry to facilitate the development and validation of occupational standards and professional development models in the workplace.”

George brings more than 15 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, having worked as an instructor at universities and colleges in Canada and abroad.
