MONTREAL — Laurie Barkman has signed on as GM of the new Alt hotel in Winnipeg.
“The arrival of Alt Hotel in downtown Winnipeg is definitely seen as the start of a new era among the local community,” said Barkman. “I am happy to take the helm of this unique hotel so that visitors from here and around the world can discover what it has to offer.”
Barkman is a seasoned hospitality veteran with more than 25 years of experience in a variety of leadership and team management positions, including director of Sales and Marketing and director, Training & Professional Development at Lakeview Management and, most recently, GM at the boutique Mere hotel in Winnipeg. “We are happy to entrust the management of Alt Hotel Winnipeg to Laurie Barkman, who has a wealth of experience and is recognized for her sense of customer service and involvement with the local community,” said Christiane Germain, co-president of Group Germain Hotels.
