TORONTO — Michele McKenzie, president and CEO of the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), is being recognized for her impact on women’s leadership roles, at the Women’s Executive Network’s Top 100 Awards being held in Toronto tonight.

McKenzie is being honoured in the public sector leaders’ category. “Michele is the recognized leader of the tourism industry in Canada. She is respected for her business acumen, strategic approach, the ability to identify a need for change and to implement it and her sound judgment and tact. She is an inspirational leader, who leads through inclusiveness, consultation, empowerment of her teams and always with respect,” said Steve Allan, CTC chair.

The Women’s Executive Network honours 100 of Canada’s private, public and not-for-profit leaders. Other trailblazers include Christine Magee, president, Sleep Country Canada; Lisa Lisson, president, Federal Express Canada Ltd.; Jane Riddell, COO, GoodLife Fitness; and Anne Sado, president, George Brown College.
