PARIS — Accor has announced Heather McCrory as its new CEO, North & Central America. She will also serve as a member of the company’s executive committee.

“I am pleased to welcome Heather to our group’s executive committee and into her new role as Chief Executive Officer overseeing the successful operation and expansion of Accor brands throughout North & Central America,” says Chris Cahill, deputy CEO, Hotel Operations & CEO, Luxury Brands at Accor. 

McCrory will have strategic oversight for more than 115 hotels and 28,000 employees across North and Central America. She will be based in the Accor regional office in Toronto.

With more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, McCrory most recently served as EVP of Operations, North & Central America Region for Accor, overseeing hotel operations, technology, design and technical services, spa, retail, rooms, food-and-beverage and integrations and openings.

In 2018, she chaired the first annual Women on the RiiSE Forum, bringing together more than 60 women in leadership from throughout the region for professional and personal development, inspiration, motivation and networking. McCrory currently serves as the executive sponsor for North & Central America for RiiSE — Accor’s international network to promote diversity.

Throughout her career, McCrory has been an active member of the hospitality industry and is a past chair of Tourism Toronto, as well as a former vice-chair of the board of directors for the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC). She has also received several accolades, including the 2012 Pinnacle Award for Hotelier of the Year from Hotelier magazine and a Gold Award for Hotelier from the Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI) in 2014.
