ESTEVAN, Sask.— MasterBuilt Hotels, a joint enterprise between Superior Lodging Corp and Jayman MasterBuilt, celebrated the first opening of a Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Estevan, Sask.

“With a booming economy and strong demand for quality lodging in the region, Estevan was a natural choice to launch our Microtel by Wyndham concept in Canada,” said Eric Watson, MasterBuilt’s VP of Development.

The Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham is Estevan’s first hotel that has an indoor pool and waterslide. Guests receive complimentary hot continental breakfast, wireless Internet, fitness centre, daily paper and a parking and business centre.

The new hotel has created approximately 20 permanent jobs in the Saskatchewan city, but the company is taking community outreach one step further. “As a new business in Estevan, we are delighted to support the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation with a $5,000 donation to aid in sustaining ongoing development of advanced healthcare for the community,” said Marc Staniloff, co-chairman of MasterBuilt Hotels.

The Estevan hotel is the first of 75 Microtel by Wyndham hotels expected to open in Canada during the next 25 years. The next property is scheduled to open in Timmins, Ont. in late 2013.
