COLLINGWOOD, Ont. — Larry Law, president and CEO of Living Water Resort & Spa in Collingwood, Ont., has received the 2016 Industry Recognition award for longstanding contributions to the accommodations industry.

The award is given out by the Simcoe Region chapter of the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association (ORHMA) to an organization or individual who:

• Has made a longstanding contribution to the restaurant or accommodations industry;
• Is a leader in positioning and supporting Simcoe’s Hospitality and Tourism industry in the national and/or international arena;
• Is employed by a restaurant or hotel currently operating in the region or is an independent owner/operator.

The award was presented at the annual ORHMA awards event and Collingwood mayor Sandra Cooper was on hand to present the award to Warren Smith on behalf of Larry Law, who was on his yearly missionary trip to Kenya.

Law’s community work in Collingwood includes providing Christmas dinners to over 300 needy people in the community every year, donating $100,000 to Georgian College and getting involved with many charities — both local and overseas.

From an industry prospective, Law has built a community of over 450 staff, growing the Cranberry Village brand from an existing inn that was on the property into an village made up of multiple types of accommodations, including hotel, vacation membership, homes, multiple restaurants, a championship golf course, marina, a wedding and conference center and one-of-a-kind spa.

“I am truly humbled and honoured to receive this respected industry recognition and would like to share this with the dedicated staff,” says Law. “I thank them for all they do — we are all passionate about Collingwood, the hospitality industry and about caring for people.”
