MARKHAM, Ont. — JM Hospitality recently celebrated the grand opening of its dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Brampton West and Home2 Suites by Hilton Toronto Brampton in Brampton, Ont.

The occasion was marked with a cocktail reception, ribbon-cutting ceremony and a grand-opening presentation. Following the presentation, attendees were also invited to tour the two hotels.

The event featured presentations by Hilton executives Adrian Kurre, global head, Home2 Suites by Hilton and Jeff Cury, senior director, Development, Canada, as well as a video message from Hilton president and CEO Chris Nassetta. Brampton Mayor, Patrick Brown, also presented JM Hospitality with a congratulatory plaque to mark the occasion.

JM Hospitaltiy team members, including president Bhulesh Lodhia; vice-president Chuck Lodhia; Hanisha Sharma, director of Strategic Management; and Hasheel Lodhia, Operations manager, also took the stage to discuss the project and thank those involved.

“We’ve waited a long time for this — probably a little over five years — from acquiring the land to working with the city for approvals, to finally doing the design and construction,” said Sharma.

“I wanted to come here today, on behalf of our city, to congratulate Bhulesh, Chuck and the extended family on this momentous occasion. To have this beautiful, beautiful project officially open today is a very special day,” said Brown. “I want to thank you for not only creating jobs in the community [and] opening a beautiful hotel — a branded hotel — in in our city…but for being a family that is dedicated to great causes in the community.”

The property, designed by API Consultants and Royal Design Inc., features two distinct lobbies and oversized guestroom windows. It also offers shared amenities, including an indoor saltwater pool, fire pit and barbecue grill area, fitness centre, guest laundry and conference centre.

In 2016, JM Hospitality was recognized at Hilton’s annual development awards, receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award – Dual Brand for its upcoming development of the property.

“Everything [JM Hospitality does], they take to the next level. There are things here that you won’t see in any other Hilton Garden Inn or any other Home2 around. It’s stunningly beautiful and they were able to source so much of what they were doing out of Canada,” said Kurre.
