SURREY — HVS, an England-based hospitality consultancy firm, has been named management consultant of the year at the International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) awards held at London’s Hilton Metropole Hotel.

“HVS is very much a team effort, so I’m delighted to accept this award on behalf of all my colleagues and thank everyone who voted for us,” Russell Kett, HVS’s managing director told Hotelier magazine. “HVS performs over 2,000 assignments a year for most of the major hotel and investment companies.”

“It wasn’t just HVS’s professional knowledge the judges were impressed with but their integrity when dealing in high-pressure situations,” said Andrew Sangster, chairman of the judging committee.

The management consultancy of the year award is given to the consulting firm demonstrating the best value-added work involving hotel investments such as merger and acquisition advice, feasibility and market assessment. Other winners were, Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, named property adviser of the year and Dexter Moren Associates, named designer, architect and constructor of the year. The Westmont Hospitality Group was awarded investor of the year.

The IHIF awards are presented to professionals in the European hotel investment community. Each year the awards provide an opportunity for the industry to recognize those who are considered ‘best in class’ across 10 categories.
