NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Harry Stinson, a Hamilton-based investor, has acquired the rights to Hotel Niagara, a long-time vacant U.S. property.

“Our objective is to restore the building as a genuine tourist attraction, not just a place to stay,” Stinson is quoted as saying in the Niagara Gazette. “There will be a lot of interesting features in the building. There will be elements that people will want to see when they are in Niagara Falls.”

In various media interviews, Stinson has confessed his surprise that the American side of Niagara Falls is underdeveloped. Mayor Paul Dyster is in talks with the developer to potentially offer financial incentives for redevelopment.
