OAKVILLE, Ont. — Howard Johnson Canada has announced the brand’s 66th Canadian location, which also represents its return to the city of Saint John, N.B.

“We’re very happy to welcome the Howard Johnson Fort Howe Plaza Hotel and Convention Centre, Saint John New Brunswick to our growing franchise team,” says Glen Blake, president of Howard Johnson Canada, “with their commitment to quality and service we know they’ll be an excellent addition to the Howard Johnson brand and strengthen our overall market position in Atlantic Canada.

The Howard Johnson Fort Howe Plaza Hotel offers 133 guestrooms, eight meeting/conference facilities and one large reception hall, which can accommodate up to 450 guests. The property is located between historic Fort Howe and historic Fort LaTour — located on the Saint John harbourfront.

“We are confident we’re joining a great franchise,” said Guy Barbara, president of the new Howard Johnson Fort Howe Plaza Hotel. “By becoming part of a well-known brand like Howard Johnson, which already has deep roots in Atlantic Canada, we will be able to position ourselves more strategically in our market.”
