MARKHAM, Ont. ― The Markham, Ont.-based Easton’s Group, has launched its new company brand, The Gupta Group, and introduced the first dual-branded Marriott hotel development in Canada. The Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Northeast Markham and the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Toronto Northeast Markham are located at Woodbine and Steeles.
The Courtyard by Marriott, designed for the traditional business traveller, is located on floors two to eight, while the TownePlace Suites by Marriott, designed as individual apartments with kitchenettes, is located on floors nine to 14. “The City of Markham is extremely delighted to welcome The Gupta Group and Marriott Hotels,” said Markham mayor Frank Scarpitti. “Not only does this significant investment by two industry leaders signal confidence in Markham but it also recognizes the growing business base in the city and the number of business travellers Markham attracts.”
The opening of the new hotels served as an appropriate occasion to introduce The Gupta Group. While expanding over the years into condominium development, the company had its origins 36 years ago in the hotel development business. “The timing is right to introduce The Gupta Group, which is testament that, while we have grown dramatically over the past many years, we are still very much a family owned and operated company. By branding with our family name, we are staying true to our family values of excellence in quality and service,” said Steve Gupta, president and CEO, Easton’s Group and The Gupta Group.
