MONTREAL — The construction of the Alt Hotel at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport — Group Germain’s sixth in the brand — is underway.

“We are on track to achieve our business objective of building 10 Alt Hotels across the country within five years. The projects we announced to date represent spending of $150 million,” said Christiane Germain, co-president of Groupe Germain.

Alt Hotels feature a concept that offers chic design and atmosphere at an affordable price. “The type of hotel we’re building here in Halifax reflects a major trend in accommodation, especially in Europe and Asia, which has been dubbed “no-frills chic,” offering design, atmosphere and decor at the best possible price. It’s a bold concept that makes a strong impression and is not hampered by gratuitous detail,” explained Germain.

Alt hotels are also in development at Pearson Airport in Toronto, downtown Winnipeg and downtown Montreal.
