VANCOUVER — The Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver is gearing up to host a special dinner with David Suzuki and other sustainable seafood advocates May 3 to show support for a proposed National Sustainable Seafood Day.

“A Seafood Celebration with David Suzuki and Guests,” will be hosted by Ned Bell, executive chef of Yew Restaurant and Bar as well as Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program, SeaChoice, Blueyou and the David Suzuki Foundation.

The event will feature keynote speaker David Suzuki, Barton Seaver, chef and author, and participating chefs Robert Clark; Quang Dang, West Restaurant; Ben Genaille, Vancouver Community College; Frank Pabst, Blue Water Café; Chris Whittaker, Forage; Robert Wong, Szechuan Chongqing; Kyle Groves, Catch Restaurant; and Jason Bangerter, Luma.

The National Seafood Day has been proposed for March 18, 2014, and is intended to bring awareness to over-fishing and non-sustainable harvesting methods, while celebrating eco-friendly solutions.
