Many hotel companies are beginning to appeal to female business travellers, reports Yahoo Travel, in a report that credits select research to Maiden Voyage, a U.K.-based social network for female business travellers.
At Calgary’s International Hotel and Vancouver’s Georgian Court Hotel women-only Orchid Floors provide extra security measures and are equipped with yoga mats, flat irons/curling irons, white wine and ladies “emergency kits.”
While the female-only hotel rooms may seem discriminatory to some — Bella Sky Comwell in Copenhagen, Denmark now permits men to book rooms on its female-only floor after reportedly losing a lawsuit — select hotels have begun to offer male-only floors, too.
