TORONTO — Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has introduced an expanded selection of kid’s meals that are “delicious and nutritious.”

The new meals will follow the nutritional guidelines established for children by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies. In many cases, Fairmont chefs are replacing refined flour for whole wheat, incorporating fruits and vegetables into recipes and employing alternative cooking methods. Menu offerings will reflect the distinctive style and unique food products of each destination but will be presented within the same nutritional parameters that guide Fairmont chefs across the globe.

The menus will include twists on old favourites such as chicken strips, pizza, spaghetti with meatballs and chocolate mousse. And, for the more refined palate, there will be offerings such as salmon with glazed vegetables and chicken quesadillas with corn tortillas and oaxaca cheese.

While many properties have already begun serving the new dishes, the new children’s menu options will be available at all Fairmont hotels by the end of March.
