TORONTO — After months of renovations, the team at DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown is marking its official opening in Toronto, with additional improvements to be completed by spring.

“The opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown is a huge thrill for our brand, as it underscores DoubleTree by Hilton’s expanded presence in Canada with four new hotels in the country in just three months,” said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “With its central location and upscale offerings, this hotel is ideally suited to accommodate both business and leisure guests in Toronto.”

Formerly the Metropolitan Hotel Toronto, the 486-room property is owned and managed by the Toronto-based Bayview Hospitality Group. Injecting millions into the property, the company has added modern design elements as well as renovated guestrooms. It’s also updated the restaurant concept, Hemispheres Restaurant Bistro, helmed by chef Raymond Cheung, with a menu of gourmet meat and seafood as well as a Chef’s Table Room.

In addition to a 24-hour fitness centre, indoor heated pool and 24-hour business centre, the revamped property offers DoubleTree’s signature brand experiences, such as a Wake Up DoubleTree Breakfast, with gourmet in-room tea and coffee; Citron body care products by Crabtree & Evelyn; and a warm chocolate chip cookie on arrival.
