VANCOUVER — Destination B.C. is seeking applicants to serve on its Tourism Marketing Committee for three years, beginning Feb. 1, 2016.

The agency is interested in applicants from each of B.C.’s tourism regions including: Vancouver, Coast & Mountains; Vancouver Island; Thompson Okanagan; Cariboo Chilcotin Coast; Northern B.C.; and the Kootenay Rockies. The committee is looking for applicants who have experience with tourism on a global, national or provincial scale, a thorough understanding of tourism issues and hands-on experience with consumer marketing, among other qualifications.

Destination B.C. established the Tourism Marketing Committee in 2013 to provide advice to the corporation’s CEO and board of directors on marketing strategies for the organization, as well as how to align tourism marketing programs across the province; performance metrics; and the performance of the tourism sector against key competitors; and ways to use Destination B.C. funds to leverage private sector tourism marketing funding.
