TORONTO — InnVest Hotels has commissioned Toronto-based DesignAgency to helm the redesign multiphase redesign of Toronto’s former Trump International Hotel, which is currently operating as The Adelaide Hotel and is slated to begin operating under the St. Regis banner later this year.

“We drew inspiration from the layered and diverse cultural history of Toronto, the unique landscape of Ontario and the rich social fabric of the people that make this city great,” says Allen Chan, partner at DesignAgency. “Combine those aspects with the legacy of the St. Regis brand and you arrive at something truly luxurious, unique and timeless.”

The redesigned lobby will feature a stepped topographic ceiling designed in collaboration with Moss + Lam to reference landscapes in Ontario. It will also include the Astor Lounge, a lobby-area café and lounge and Louix Louis — the hotel’s 31st-floor grand bar and restaurant.
