MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Morguard Corporation has appointed Denis Gilles as general manager for the company’s Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton, Ottawa Downtown development.

Gilles boasts more than 25 years of national and international operational experience with brands such as New World, Regal and Hilton. Most recently, he held general manager positions within Silverbirch Hotels’ portfolio, leading hotels under the Quality, Hampton, Homewood and DoubleTree brands.
Opening fall of 2018 in the core of Ottawa’s prominent Sparks-Street promenade, the dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton, Ottawa Downtown will be the first Hilton property in downtown Ottawa. The project features the redevelopment of two existing towers that will be transformed into a 17-storey Hilton Homewood Suites and a 10-storey Hilton Garden. The property will feature a total of 346 guestrooms and suites, a restaurant, bar, pool, fitness centre, meeting rooms and business centre.
