KITCHENER, Ont. — Mississauga, Ont.’s InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the opening of the Crowne Plaza Kitchener-Waterloo hotel, a rebranded property, which has undergone renovations and now features 201 guestrooms, eight suites and a presidential suite.

“We are pleased to expand the Crowne Plaza brand in Ontario, especially in such a convenient location for business travellers,” said Gina LaBarre, VP, Americas Brand Management, Upscale Brands, IHG. “We know our guests need to be productive when they’re on the road for work, and our hotels offer the service and amenities that enable them to be successful.”

More than $12 million was invested into the renovations by owner, Vista Hospitality Group. The guestrooms and fitness centre we’re re-designed with a sleek and modern look. The hotel now features a 17,000-sq.-ft. meeting space, bowling alley, mini putt, yoga studio, pool and squash courts.
The hotel has also achieved IHG’s highest level of environmental certification through its Green Engage program.

Located in the heart of downtown Kitchener’s business district, this hotel is the fourth Crowne Plaza location in Ontario and the eighth in Canada.
