LONDON, U.K. — The World Travel Awards has announced its 2017 Caribbean & North America regional winners.

The World Travel Awards Caribbean & North America Gala Ceremony had been scheduled to take place at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa on Sept. 16, but was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma. Instead, winners were announced from the World Travel Awards headquarters in London, England.

This year’s awards recognized several Canadian hotels as leaders within the North American market in addition to the leading Canadian properties in five categories.

Canadian Award Recipients include:
North America’s Leading Airport Hotel — Fairmont Vancouver Airport
North America’s Leading Green Hotel — Fairmont Royal York, Toronto
North America’s Leading Hotel Suite — Fairmont Royal York, Toronto
North America’s Responsible Tourism Award — Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Alta.
Canada’s Leading Boutique Hotel — Hotel Gault Montreal
Canada’s Leading Business Hotel — Fairmont Pacific Rim, Vancouver
Canada’s Leading Hotel — Hotel Le St-James, Montreal
Canada’s Leading Hotel Suite — The Ritz-Carlton Montreal
Canada’s Leading Wilderness Resort — Au Diable Vert – Station de Montagne, Glen Sutton, Que.
