BERLIN — Canada has been recognized as one of the most LGBT-friendly travel destinations by the Spartacus Gay Travel Index.
Canada ranked in the list’s number-1 position along with Portugal and Sweden. The annual list is designed to inform travellers of the situation faced by LGBT people in 197 countries and regions around the world. The ranking is based on 14 criteria in three categories, including civil rights, discrimination and threats to individuals.
Canada also took top honours in the 2018 Spartacus Gay Travel Index.
