CALGARY — Beginning next month, the Calgary Marriott will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation to its 384 guestrooms, meeting space, lobby, restaurant/bar and concierge lounge.

“These ground-breaking enhancements will keep our property at the forefront of the competitive hotel market in Calgary,” said Joseph Clohessy, GM. “More importantly, these changes will contribute significantly to helping the city be a leading destination.”

The new lobby will reflect Marriott’s GreatRoom concept with contemporary decor, expanded floor space and new social meeting areas. A new Starbucks location in the lobby will include dedicated seating for guests’ convenience and an additional 4,000 sq. ft. will be added to the existing 7,000 sq. ft. of meeting space.

This property will also welcome Canada’s first M Club Lounge, an upscale concierge lounge providing a space for guests to work, connect and recharge, with features such as business services, flexible seating and F&B offerings.

The renovation will dovetail with the property’s 40th anniversary and is scheduled for completion in spring 2015.
