TORONTO — Booking.com has released its list for the most welcoming places in Canada. According to customer reviews, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., Victoria, Vancouver, Halifax, Calgary and Whistler were selected as some of the top destinations.
More than 2,200 Canadian properties claimed a 2018 Guest Review Award from the accommodation website, which created the list to honour its partners that consistently deliver great guest experiences.
According to recent research from Booking.com, which surveyed 21,000 travellers across 29 countries, 28 per cent of travellers would prefer to stay in a holiday home or apartment instead of a hotel in 2019. In fact, two out of the three of the most welcoming property types in Canada are alternative-accommodation options: Airbnbs (1,568), apartments (1,048) and hotels (1,987).
