PHOENIX — Best Western Hotels & Resorts kicked off 2016 with a slew of new appointment announcements, including naming Dorothy Dowling SVP and chief marketing officer for the Phoenix-based company.

The 30-year industry veteran joined Best Western in 2004. Since then, Dowling has grown Best Western’s loyalty program and market share and forged several media partnerships, including MiLB.com, the official website of Minor League Baseball. Last year she spearheaded the rebranding of Best Western International to Best Western Hotels & Resorts, unveiling new logos and the implementation of a new mobile strategy. Dowling was recently names Forbes’ 18th most influential chief marketing officer in the world.

Other promotions include Mark Straszynski as the new SVP and chief financial officer. He will oversee all finance operations, accounting, treasury, risk management and strategic planning. Greg Adams is the new VP and chief digital officer and will lead all aspects of the company’s global eCommerce footprint.
