TORONTO — Atlific Hotels is the management team behind the new Element Vaughan Southwest, the first Canadian location of Starwood’s eco-friendly, extended-stay brand.

“Atlific is very excited to be involved in bringing this smart, stylish and cutting-edge brand to Canada,” said Philippe Gadbois, SVP, Operations, Atlific Hotels, of the Ontario opening. “We look forward to bringing our trusted management to this first Element property with one more coming in 2015 in the form of Element Vancouver Metrotown.”

John Caneco, who opened the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Vaughan Southwest in 2008, will take the reigns as GM of the hotel.

As the first major hotel brand to mandate the pursuit of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for high-performance buildings, the hotel has three ChargePoint Electric Car Stations, low-flow faucets and fixtures, recycled tire flooring and soy-based amenities. What’s more, the 24-hour fitness centre features “pedal-powered” stationary bike charging stations for electronic devices, a saltwater pools and a complementary bike service.

The hotel features 3,500 sq. ft. of meeting-and-event space as well as suites with personal gourmet kitchens, 42” flat-screen TVs, Heavenly Beds and spa-inspired bathrooms.
