ROCKVILLE, Md. — Choice Hotels’ Ascend collection of independent hotels has reached a milestone, after five properties recently joined the system, increasing its share to more than 100 hotels.

“Ascend Hotel Collection plays a pivotal role in Choice Hotels’ expansion in the upscale segment,” said Stephen P. Joyce, president and CEO of Choice Hotels International. “Demand for Ascend Hotel Collection is robust throughout North America, and the outlook for additional growth in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean is extremely promising.”

The Ascend collection comprises 105 hotels across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Central America and the Caribbean. The company added 35 properties to its roster this year alone, including the Hotel Florence in Florence, S.C.; Carnegie Inn and Spa in State College, Pa.; Port Inn Kennebunk in Kennebunk, Maine; Gaia Hotel in Anderson, Calif.; and Hotel Med Park in Sacramento, Calif.
