STAMFORD, Conn. — Arianna Huffington, The Huffington Post Media Group’s chair, president and editor-in-chief, is bringing her experience with overcoming work-related burnout to the masses with news she has joined Westin Hotels & Resorts’ Well-being Council.

Huffington will join Andy Puddicombe, the co-founder of the U.K.-based Headspace meditation company, on the council that was created as part of Westin’s new $15-million Well-being Movement campaign. “I’m delighted to be joining Westin’s Well-being Council,” said Huffington. “When we include well-being in our definition of success, we see the benefits in every aspect of our lives. Westin’s advocacy of holistic well-being taps into a real longing in people to live their lives with less burnout and more aliveness.”

The council will eventually comprise experts to represent Westin’s six wellness brand pillars: Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well and Play Well. As part of Huffington’s contribution, she will provide content for the westin.com/wellbeing website and the hotel company’s social channels in a bid to help guests and associates improve their well-being as it relates to their careers.

This comes on the heels of the media maven’s new book, “Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder,” which was penned from life experience after Huffington collapsed from exhaustion in 2007. She shares her learnings from the experience in the book and now with Westin guests and associates.
