SASKATOON — Group Germain Hotels has marked the opening of its 18th Canadian hotel property with the launch of Alt Hotel Saskatoon. The hotel also represents the company’s first property in Saskatchewan and fourth in the Prairies.

Located in downtown Saskatoon, the hotel boasts spectacular views of the city and the South Saskatchewan River.

“We fell in love with Saskatoon,” says Hugo Germain, director of Development, Group Germain Hotels. “The river right in the heart of downtown gives this Prairie city a European flair and Saskatoon’s dynamism is perfectly aligned with Alt Hotels’ personality. It must be said, if the intense cold characterizes the city’s winters, the warmth of the welcome you receive more than makes up for it.”

Representing an investment of nearly $35 million, Alt Hotel Saskatoon offers 156 guestrooms across 14 floors. Like all Alt Hotels, the property was designed by LemayMichaud Architecture Design, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and in-room workstation with an ergonomic chair and connectivity panel for electronic devices.

The hotel also offers Chromecast streaming, a well-equipped gym, approximately 4,500 sq. ft. of meeting space, an on-the-go food counter (Altcetera) and will soon offer on-site breakfast.

General management of the hotel has been entrusted to Corinne Lund, who has more than 25 years of customer service experience in the hotel and tourism industry.

“Our teams have worked very hard over the past few months and we look forward to welcoming our guests in order to share the Alt experience,” says Lund.
