EDMONTON — Alberta hotels don’t mess around when it comes to keeping high standards in housekeeping. The Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) has released its 2014 Housekeeping Awards winners, highlighting 153 properties that have demonstrated excellence in cleanliness, maintenance and state of repair.
“Receiving a housekeeping award creates a sense of pride amongst my staff,” said Garrett Turta, GM of The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton, a winner this year. “Housekeepers are the unsung heroes of the hotel business. The Housekeeping Awards recognize the hard work that goes into making sure that our rooms are spotless every time a guest checks in.”
This year’s winners include Comfort Inn & Suites in Airdrie, Alta.; Best Western Plus South Edmonton Inn & Suites in Edmonton; Sawridge Hotel & Conference Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta.; Holiday Inn Lethbridge in Lethbridge, Alta.; Ramada Inn & Suites Red Deer in Red Deer, Alta.; and Days Inn & Suites Strathmore in Strathmore, Alta.
The 2014 winners will be recognized during the AHLA’s annual Housekeeping Awards Gala, held April 25 at The Banff Centre in Banff, Alta.
