TORONTO — AccorHotels North & Central America has announced the appointment of Ian Ricci as vice-president of Development, Canada and Caribbean. In his new role, he’s responsible for overseeing the corporate-development strategy for AccorHotels’ expanding portfolio in Canada and the Caribbean.

“We’re excited to welcome Ian, as his extensive financial background and hospitality-industry experience will be complementary to the team and positively contribute to amplifying the group’s presence in North and Central America,” says Greg Doman, senior vice-president, Development North & Central America, Luxury Hotels Americas and Residential. “We’re certain he’ll be instrumental in identifying opportunities and building successful relationships with new and existing hotel owners and partners in Canada and the Caribbean.”

Ricci joined AccorHotels from CWB Franchise Finance, a division of Canadian Western Bank, where he was an account manager. He held the same position at GE Capital, where he worked for nearly a decade, starting as structuring manager in late 2006. He also spent time at HVS International, where he worked on market and hotel-feasibility studies and hotel valuations on a broad range of asset types —from budget hotels to five-star resorts — across Canada and the United States.
